A 4th Full of 1sts...

None of us had been to a 3D movie--so we took the girls to see Toy Story 3.  Little Miss loved it as soon as we handed her her "accessory."  She was quite impressed with the 3D action.  Lolly was glued to my lap and hesitant about the glasses, but once the movie started, it was all good.  They both agreed it was the best movie ever!  I cried so hard at the end that Lolly told me the top of her head was getting wet.
Naturally, we had to have a snow cone on the way home.  The girls each wanted to try watermelon...to not as favorable reviews as the movie.

Our local 4th of July Parade was on the 3rd.  And Little Miss's cheer gym had a float!
According to Loverboy, the float was almost out of candy to toss by the first 1/4 mile.  On the bright side, no one fell off.  I really expected Loverboy to be put out with being volunteered to wrangle the girls on the float, but he seemed to have a pretty good time--even mentioned he'll sign up for it next year!  Probably so he can be candy czar and maintain a more even pace of distribution.
Molly and I enjoyed the parade from the sidelines...although I think she may riding the float with Loverboy and the girls next year.  I really won't miss her videography skills.  She gets carried away with waving...I have several minutes of the lovely overcast sky accompanied by her enthusiastic calling out to the girls on the float.  I just have to accept I have a family of doers and I'll have to be the lone documentor on the sidelines.  Alas.

Molly provided the 4th of July celebratory dinner, which was divine.  But neither she nor Lolly were up to the fireworks.  SarahBeth took a break from her online dating adventures to meet us at the CVS parking lot for some prime viewing.  Apparently our community's fireworks display was touted by some publication or another as having one of the fifty top fireworks shows in the country--who knew?!

I love fireworks.
Can you tell?
I really do.
I probably have over 200 fireworks pictures from this year.  Why, you ask?
'Cause they're cool!  Until the neighbors are shooting theirs off until 3:00 am, anyway.

The traffic was pretty fierce, so we had a verrrry late night.  The upside of which is, of course, sleeping in today!  We did our best immitation of slugs for most of the day.
Slugs who needed snow cones by the afternoon.
Rootbeer for her, cola for me, if you're curious.
