I've got COOKIES!!!! (by Saturday afternoon)
And any number of them can be yours for $3.50 a box! I just spent two hours of my evening at a meeting with the Daisy troop leader and the other moms to learn everything you could possibly ever want to know about the great experience known as Girl Scout Cookie Sale Time. Oh, my. I get to drive to the Fort Worth Zoo Saturday to pick Little Miss's preassigned cookie order--12 cases. Each with 12 boxes of cookies. That's 144 boxes of cookies I get to schlep around. And we also got a crash course in "cookie care" which means that after I get the cookies I have to a) come straight home so the cookies don't sit in a warm(ish) car thus rendering the chocolate too melty, and b) find somewhere to store 144 boxes of cookies where they won't get smushed, too hot/cold, attacked by the dog, wet, too close to cleaning chemicals...all among the chaos of post-Christmas detritus/demantling. So, I'm a motivated seller. All the greats are there: Caramel deLites (you know you love them!), Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties (Loverboy's favorite), Peanut Butter Sandwich, Lemonades (my favorite). Apparently, the love ends about there. The Shortbreads have a loyal following I hear. I've never heard of the Thanks-A-Lots. And according the the district leader, the Shout Outs won't move at all. We'll see about that. $3.50 a box folks, send a kid to camp, step right up. They make delightful Valentine's Day gifts!
