Welcome! Come right in the front door, but ignore the cattywumpus sheers over the door glass. Emily likes to nose them aside so she can keep an eye on the front yard and watch the deer crossing over from the orchard on their way to the river behind us. And the mirror on the floor? While "leaning mirrors" seem to be a decorator fad right now, they're usually more...vertical, like a full-length mirror. We can't decide on the best way to hang this heavy monstrosity at eye level...so you can at least check your shoes on your way in or out for now. It's usually a pretty bright spot with all the glass, but not at 9:00 pm when I finally got around to snapping pictures so I'd have something to blog about.
Our (still up, but I'm making some headway) Christmas decor in the front hall this year was our travel souvenier wreath, the "Santa I've Been Good/Bad" behavior monitor sign, all the Little Miss and Santa picture I could find (the rest have got to be somewhere in the spare bedroom/craft haven) and the Christmas countown that I bought at an FAO Schwarz after Christmas sale ten (!) years ago when Mom and I went to visit dad in Chicago.
I've gotten the master bathroom de-Christmased, a few snowglobes packed up, the wreath from the front hall is in its box, and the ornaments are off the tree that we had in the front window/playroom. So much farther to go...
Little Miss Princess is "in" and has been since Tuesday night. Stomache bug. I'll spare you the details. She still had a fever today, so she'll be "in" tomorrow as well. I hate it when she's sick! Dull eyes and vegging out in front of the TV...hopefully Sparkle Princess will be be-bopping around by tomorrow evening!
